This easy Waldorf salad recipe is based on the classic recipe but with some added ingredients to provide more nutrients. It is packed with flavor and so easy to make! I love easy salads. They’re my go-to for busy weekday lunches but this makes a perfect side dish for nearly any meal too.
The Waldorf salad was created in the late 19th century at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. When I first began making these salads, I made them the original way with only apples, celery, and mayonnaise. It has evolved into recipes with additional ingredients in it – often adding lettuce or spinach and some adding a protein like chicken.

Easy Waldorf Salad Recipe
In this version, I have added some additional fruit, the nuts and seeds, and have changed from using mayonnaise to yogurt in order to boost the nutritional content.
Makes 6 servings.
Time to prepare: 10 minutes.
Ingredients:
Dressing:
1 1/4 cups fat free Greek style yogurt
2 T. lemon juice

1 cup grapes, cut in half
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/3 cup sunflower or pumpkin seeds
salt and pepper to taste
Optional additions: chopped celery, cooked chicken, hard boiled eggs, almonds, raisins

Instructions:
Like I said, this is incredibly easy to make. Simply mix all of the ingredients together. Serve on a bed of lettuce.
