Makes : 2 Hands
Prep: 20 Minutes
Bake: 20 Minutes

Ingredients:

Pie crust (Pillsbury, for example)
Ground beef
White onion
Olive oil
Gravy mix
Water
Egg

Note: you can add some spices if you’d like. I find with the gravy mix that it doesn’t need additional salt, but you might want to add black pepper, garlic, or pretty much any of your favorite seasonings. I often add a pinch of nutmeg and it really complements the savory flavors beautifully. It reminds me a tiny bit of Tourtiere. Top with some grated cheese in the last few minutes of baking if you’d like.

You will also need some freezer paper and parchment paper.

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

On freezer paper with the shiny side down place your hand and draw it out with a pencil. Cut it out with scissors.

Roll out the pie crust at room temperature. Cut out four hands using the template and place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.

In a frying pan, add onions, olive oil, and ground beef. Fry until ground beef is browned.

Pour in the package of gravy and one cup water. Mix well and bring to s low boil then turn to low. The gravy will thicken around the meat.

Fill one hand with meat mixture and place the other hand on top and using a fork go around the edge and press down to seal. It’s okay if the filling leaks out a little bit. We think it adds to the spooky look!

Whisk egg and brush over the top of the hands.

Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
