Slimer Halloween Ice Pops

We have been big Ghostbusters fans ever since the first movie came out! I remember seeing it back in university with my friends and we all just loved it. We quoted it incessantly!

My favorite character – well, I have a crush on Bill Murray so that’s a no-brainer – but Slimer is definitely my favorite of all the ghost characters. He’s so funny (and disgusting lol). These Slimer Ice Pops are a perfect nod to his vivid green color!

Prep time: 30 Minutes + it needs to be placed in freezer overnight.

This recipe makes 4 to 6 pops depends on mold size.

Ingredients:

2 egg yolks
1/3 cup of sugar
2 cups of milk
1 cup of heavy cream
1 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
a drop of green food coloring gel

Halloween Ice Pops Instructions:

Mix 2 egg yolks with 1/3 cup of sugar in a mixing bowl.

Bring 2 cups of milk to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Pour the boiled milk into a mixing bowl and then, mix with a hand mixer.

Pour the mixture into a saucepan and cook on medium-low heat until thickened; it should look like melted ice cream.

Pour into a mixing bowl. Now, add in the food coloring gel and stir until the color is mixed in well.

Let cool in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

After cooling add 1 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract. Mix well and pour into the ice cream molds. Freeze overnight.
