These ghost scones are absolutely perfect for Halloween. If you’re having a Halloween brunch or simply want something to serve at teatime or for an after school snack, these are ideal.
I would even have these for lunch with some soup – I’d probably not dust them with the powdered sugar to keep them a little less sweet though. How would you serve them?
Easy Ghost Scones Recipe

Servings: 16 Scones
Prep: 15 minutes| Cook Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes
Ingredients:
3 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
1 TBS cinnamon
½ butter grated
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup maple syrup
¼ cup milk
2 eggs
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well incorporated.
Cut butter into flour mixture until flour compacts easily.
In a small bowl, whisk eggs, maple syrup, and milk.
Make a well in the flour mixture and add egg mixture.
Fold egg mixture into dry ingredients until well incorporated.
Turn dough out onto floured surface and roll out until ¼ in thick
Using a 2 inch circle cutter cut out circles in the dough.
Place dough on the prepared baking sheet and using your finger make 3 holes for the eyes and mouth of the ghost.
Brush scones with maple syrup and bake for 10-15 minutes.
Once scones are completely cooled, sprinkle powdered sugar on your scones.
Notes:
*Dough will be sticky just use some extra flour to help it not stick
*Make sure you stretch out your dough or your holes will close up during baking
*If the holes do close use a straw while warm to make the holes again
*To make them extra spooky add some fake blood or strawberry syrup
