Frankenstein Chocolate Bars

Ingredients:

4 chocolate bars (you could also use chocolate wafer cookies for this instead)

3 tbsp. white chocolate chips

a little green food coloring

1 tsp coconut shavings (easily dyed black with 2 drops of food coloring)

1 tsp. poppy

4 sugar eyes

4 white chocolate chips for eyes

8 blueberries

assorted candies.

Instructions:

1. First, melt the white chocolate in a water bath. To get the chocolate to the right consistency, you can add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil as needed (We did not add any as our chocolate melted perfectly). Add drops of food coloring to get a nice green color the intensity you want. Stir this mixture and fill the syringe with it.

2 Place the chocolate bars on a board. Squeeze out the green chocolate to form the outline of a rectangle 1/3 the length of the bar. Fill the rectangles with the green chocolate.

3. Place the monster’s eyes, either sugar or chocolate. Add the hair using poppy seeds or coconut shavings. Chill the bars for 40 minutes in the refrigerator.

4. Cut round green candies in half to decorate ears. Melt the dark chocolate, spread some on the candy and glue the ears on. Attach the blueberry buttons and the shoes made of brightly colored candies in the same way. Draw a mouth and pupils. Chill the treats for another 40 minutes, They can then be served or wrapped for gift giving.

Frankenstein’s creepy monsters will brighten up your holiday themed party. They can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator in a covered container for 7 days.
