These Grilled Pound Cake, Pineapple & Strawberry Skewers are a quick and easy dessert idea that is perfect for summer. Grilling the cake and fruit really brings out the flavor. When you put them together - YUM!
These dessert skewers are fun, festive, and delicious. You can even put out the ingredients and let your family or guests assemble their own. As a variation on this recipe, try using peaches and pears - they grill beautifully too!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Pound cake homemade or store-bought
  • 2 cups Fresh pineapple chunks
  • 3 cups Strawberries tops removed and halved
  • 1 cup Heavy whipping cream
  • 3 tbsp Powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat an indoor grill pan or outdoor grill to medium heat.
  • Cut the pound cake into bite-sized cubes.
  • Thread onto BBQ skewers, alternating with strawberries and pineapple chunks in between.
  • Grill on an outdoor grill or on a lightly greased grill pan until light grill marks form and the fruit begins to soften, 3-4 minutes per side.
  • In a large bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract; continue to mix until incorporated.
  • Serve the grilled pound cake and fruit with fresh whipped cream.
